About the role#
As a Commercial Analytics and Optimization Team Intern, you will join the Business Intelligence organization within the Operations group at Enact. This 12-week internship begins May 17, 2027. You will work alongside industry experts to gain hands-on experience in achieving business results while developing technical and professional skills. The program includes networking opportunities with company leaders, team-building events, and professional development workshops.
What you'll do#
- Apply analytical capabilities in Tableau to identify customer trends.
- Collaborate with data analysts and subject matter experts to learn about the finance and insurance industry.
- Enhance, automate, and optimize current data modeling and reporting procedures.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Pricing, Risk, Customer Solutions, and Underwriting teams to define business questions.
- Prepare data, build predictive and prescriptive models, and communicate recommended actions.
- Design and implement forecasting models to optimize business processes.
- Perform exploratory data analysis on large datasets.
- Build machine learning models using structured and unstructured data.
- Explain machine learning methods to non-analytical business users and model governance teams.
What you'll need#
- Current student in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Hands-on experience with visualization software like Tableau or Sigma Computing.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with Snowflake or SQL.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and ask questions.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Preferred: Experience with Python (Pandas, Scikit-learn), Spark, and cloud platforms like Snowflake.
- Preferred: Experience with time series forecasting, optimization, and machine learning platforms.
