About the role#
As a GIS Intern, you will support the daily operations of the department while gaining exposure to the railroad industry. You will learn about industry structure, competitive dynamics, and the specific processes, systems, and procedures used at Genesee & Wyoming Inc.
What you'll do#
- Assist with day-to-day departmental operations.
- Develop an understanding of railroad industry structure and competitive dynamics.
- Learn internal processes, procedures, and systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or Data Science.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization while maintaining objectivity and independence.
- Self-starter mindset.

- Location: Jacksonville, Florida.
- This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship.
