About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship at Genesee & Wyoming Inc. focused on supporting the day-to-day operations of the GIS department. You will gain exposure to the railroad industry, including its structure and competitive dynamics, while learning internal processes, procedures, and systems.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily departmental operations.
- Learn about railroad industry operations and market dynamics.
- Develop an understanding of company workflows and technical systems.
- Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program, specifically in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or Data Science.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work as a self-starter.
- Ability to maintain objectivity and interact professionally with all levels of the organization.
- A valid driver's license.
