About the role#
Join the Cadillac Racing Program Management team as a Business Operations and Cost Optimization Intern. You will support trackside and race-event operations by auditing spend and processes. Your work will focus on analyzing budget-to-actual performance and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and business control without impacting race readiness or safety.
What you'll do#
- Create a program spend baseline by organizing historical and forecasted costs across logistics, purchasing, travel, freight, equipment, hospitality, and race-event activities.
- Conduct structured audits of transactions and processes to identify cost drivers, duplication, compliance issues, and control gaps.
- Review invoices, budgets, purchase orders, forecasts, and actuals to reconcile discrepancies and summarize findings.
- Build Excel-based tools, dashboards, and status reports to help leadership monitor spending and implementation progress.
- Quantify potential savings and develop a prioritized cost-reduction pipeline.
- Support business cases for cost-cutting measures and present findings to Program Management leadership.
- Track actions, owners, and realized savings through implementation.
- Assess inventory-control practices for trackside parts, spares, and consumables to identify opportunities to reduce obsolete or duplicate inventory.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Data Analytics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, during the summer months.
- Strong analytical, auditing, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with attention to detail.
- Experience with process auditing, cost accounting, budgeting, or procurement controls is preferred.
- Familiarity with Power BI, data visualization, or financial modeling tools is a plus.
- Experience in automotive, motorsports, or manufacturing environments is beneficial.

- Work Modality: Hybrid (minimum three days per week on-site at the Milford Proving Ground).
