About the role#
General Motors is hiring Manufacturing Industrial Engineer interns for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position where you will perform hands-on work within a manufacturing plant environment. You will work under the guidance of supervisors to analyze operational efficiency and contribute to the company's production goals.
What you'll do#
- Analyze the efficiency of manufacturing operations, including personnel, materials, machines, and facilities.
- Confirm or recommend changes to facility layouts, labor control, and material control systems.
- Assist in developing accurate methods and optimum operation layouts.
- Create operation descriptions and perform necessary calculations to complete studies and change routines.
- Collaborate with teams outside of your immediate work group.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
- Graduation date between August 2027 and June 2029.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week).
- Willingness to work in a plant environment, which may include loud conditions, non-climate-controlled areas, and physical tasks such as standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
