About the role#
This internship offers the chance to build software that controls and monitors mission-critical payload systems. You will work alongside experienced engineers on full-stack solutions, contributing to the product lifecycle from design and development to integration and testing. This is an on-site role based in Manassas, Virginia, for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Solve real software and systems challenges that support reliable payload operations.
- Develop full-stack applications, including user interfaces, backend services, data flows, and system integrations.
- Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, and test engineers in a hands-on environment.
- Design, build, test, and improve features from early concepts through deployment.
- Learn how mission-critical systems are developed with a focus on reliability, safety, and quality.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Sophomore standing or higher is preferred.
- A thorough understanding of engineering technology.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Eligibility to meet requirements for access to classified information.
- A Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at the time of hire.
