About the role#
The IT ServiceDesk Intern supports the Gas South IT and PMO department. You will help resolve entry-level end-user requests and improve response times for helpdesk tickets. This role is a chance to start your IT career while working with internal users to troubleshoot technical issues.
What you'll do#
- Respond to technical assistance requests in person, via phone, and electronically.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Research questions using available resources and advise users on the right steps to take.
- Follow standard helpdesk procedures and log all interactions.
- Track and route requests while documenting resolutions.
- Escalate complex or urgent issues to the appropriate resource.
- Set up end-user hardware including PCs, monitors, printers, keyboards, mice, and phones.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft OS and Office Suite applications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with basic hardware troubleshooting.
- The ability to learn and work with multiple computer systems quickly.
