About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site in Phoenix, Arizona, providing technical support and guidance for chemistry laboratory programs. The role offers hands-on experience in an analytical laboratory setting and the opportunity to work on projects that contribute to site operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily laboratory tasks, including sample processing and the operation of analytical equipment.
- Install, maintain, and monitor laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Prepare and verify calibration and quality control standards.
- Collaborate with laboratory personnel to ensure the timely completion of analytical work.
- Investigate and help implement new analytical method development.
- Perform laboratory inspections and recommend improvements to the work environment.
- Maintain laboratory inventory and coordinate with vendors for supplies and services.
- Communicate with laboratory customers and assist with data interpretation.
- Promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the lab.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a Chemistry or closely related degree program at an accredited four-year university, or graduation within 12 months of the internship start date.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong skills in data analysis and problem-solving.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to understand and follow work and safety instructions.

- Physical requirements: The role involves working in an office, mine, or plant setting. You may be required to stand, sit, climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to 30 pounds. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory in specific environments.
