About the role#
This ten-week internship provides hands-on experience working across Freddie Mac capital markets desks. You will train to understand the mortgage capital markets life cycle while gaining desk-specific knowledge. Depending on your placement, you will focus on either front-end business, such as loan pricing and securitization, or credit risk management, including work with STACR and ACIS products. You will work alongside professionals to analyze data and support our mission to provide liquidity to the housing market.
What you'll do#
- Support portfolio manager activities by analyzing data and contributing to projects that improve desk functionality.
- Work as part of a high-performing team to help desks make educated decisions.
- Complete a summer-long project related to Freddie Mac and present your findings to senior management.
- Build analytical and interpersonal skills while networking across different business areas.
- Develop proficiencies in fixed income valuation, financial transaction analysis, and quantitative tools like SQL, Python, or R.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Statistics, Engineering, or Mathematics.
- Expected graduation date in either Fall 2027 or Spring 2028.
- Ability to begin the internship in May or June 2027.
- Strong problem-solving ability and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a commitment to learning new concepts quickly.

- Compensation: This is a paid, full-time internship with an hourly rate of $32 per hour.
