About the role#
The Safety Engineer Intern supports the EHS leads and project team to ensure a safe construction site. You will assist with EHS documentation and help maintain a safe environment for all team members, subcontractors, and visitors. This role requires working on an active construction site and involves regular interaction with a diverse group of employees.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing and conducting EHS orientation and training programs.
- Document and track EHS initiatives, violations, and safety conditions.
- Conduct work area EHS audits and attend project meetings.
- Help coordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirements.
- Accompany health, insurance, owner, and OSHA personnel on site tours.
- Assist with injury management and case management.
- Organize and implement EHS recognition and reward programs.
- Participate in project planning and hazard analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Occupational EHS, Engineering, or related degree program.
- Interest in the construction industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse organization.
- Proficiency with MS Office software.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Action oriented mindset.
