Folia Materials is seeking Culinary Science Interns for the Summer 2026 and Fall 2026 terms. This paid, full-time, on-site position focuses on testing frozen food products using the company's patented paper-based microwave packaging. You will gain hands-on experience in culinary science, sensory evaluation, and the impact of packaging technology on food quality.
What you'll do#
- Screen frozen food products to identify candidates for microwave packaging testing.
- Conduct culinary work and temperature testing to evaluate microwave food performance.
- Perform sensory evaluations to assess improvements in taste, texture, and overall quality.
- Develop product demonstrations for internal use and client presentations.
- Collect quantitative and qualitative data using lab and food testing equipment.
- Document testing procedures and results in an organized manner.
What you'll need#
- Current student or recent graduate in culinary science, culinology, food science, or related fields, or professional chef experience.
- Ability to be creative and methodical in a laboratory and kitchen setting.
- Comfort with repetitive testing and detailed documentation.
- Bonus: Experience with frozen or processed foods, product development, or sensory analysis.
- Must be located in the Boston metro area and able to work on-site in Waltham.
