About the role#
Folia Materials is seeking a part-time Instrumentation Intern for the Fall 2026 semester. This role focuses on product testing for microwave susceptor technology. You will work directly with the engineering team to design reliable test systems and develop methods for gathering data. This is an on-site position based in Waltham, Massachusetts, requiring 20 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Execute lab-scale tests with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all variables are documented.
- Support the creation of robust data sampling methods to provide actionable insights.
- Assist in the transition from manual testing to automated systems to improve data reproducibility.
- Work under the guidance of senior engineers to meet technical project goals.
- Develop and refine reliable data-gathering methods for product validation.
What you'll need#
- Current student in Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Strong foundation in experimental measurements and data accuracy.
- Ability to learn and understand new electronics and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with Google Drive or MS Office.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
