About the role#
Folia Materials is seeking a part-time Instrumentation Intern for the Fall 2026 semester. This role involves product testing for microwave susceptor technology and requires close collaboration with the engineering team to design reliable microwave test systems. You will work on-site in Waltham, Massachusetts, for 20 hours per week beginning in September 2026.
What you'll do#
- Execute lab-scale tests with meticulous attention to detail to ensure all variables are documented.
- Support the creation of robust data sampling methods that provide actionable insights.
- Assist in the transition from manual testing to automated systems to improve data reproducibility.
- Develop reliable data-gathering methods under the guidance of senior engineers.
What you'll need#
- Current student status in Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering.
- Strong foundation in experimental measurements.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to learn and understand new electronics and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with Google Drive or MS Office.
