About the role#
Five Star Bank offers a Summer Associate Program for students interested in IT within the banking industry. This internship provides hands-on experience across digital banking, systems engineering, software development, data engineering, and IT operations. You will work with infrastructure teams to support secure technology solutions while being paired with a mentor and manager for professional guidance.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing and enhancing digital platforms.
- Support infrastructure projects, maintain system performance, and contribute to automation efforts.
- Collaborate on application development, testing, and deployment.
- Monitor systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and gain exposure to service management.
- Help advance the bank data catalog.
- Document processes and follow technical procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering, with junior-level standing preferred.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- At least 1 year of involvement in clubs, volunteer work, or other extracurricular activities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with IT concepts such as networking, servers, and cybersecurity.
- Exposure to Windows Server, Active Directory, or networking tools is a plus.
- Ability to demonstrate the standards and principles of the Five Star Bank experience.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- The role follows a hybrid work model.
- Locations include Rochester, Buffalo, and Warsaw, New York.
- Occasional travel within the corporate footprint of Buffalo and Rochester is required.
