About the role#
FirstEnergy is seeking a Supply Chain Contract Review Paralegal Intern to join our team in Akron, Ohio. This role provides hands-on experience by supporting the Contract Review Team with legal and procurement documentation. You will work closely with internal business partners, Supply Chain professionals, and Legal teams. We prefer candidates who can remain in the program for one to two years while completing their studies, with the potential to transition into future full-time roles.
What you'll do#
- Review and process supplier contracts, amendments, and statements of work.
- Track contract status, approvals, and key project milestones.
- Check documents for completeness, consistency, and compliance with internal procedures.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Legal, and Risk departments to obtain necessary information.
- Maintain accurate contract records within company systems.
- Assist with contract reporting, data analysis, and audit support.
- Conduct research on contract terms, procurement requirements, and regulatory considerations.
- Prepare correspondence, summaries, and presentations.
- Support special projects focused on process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
What you'll need#
- Completion of an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies and current enrollment in a Bachelor's program (Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, Pre-Law, Business, or related).
- OR a Paralegal Certificate and current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Graduate degree program.
- OR current enrollment in an accredited Law School (J.D.) program.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize work effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional demeanor and a commitment to confidentiality.
- Junior or Senior undergraduate status or first/second-year law student status is preferred.
- Experience in a legal office, contract administration, or procurement is a plus.

- Location: Akron, Ohio (Hybrid).
- Term: Fall 2026 (August 31, 2026, to December 11, 2026).
- Employment type: Full-time (40 hours per week) or part-time (20 hours per week) options available.
- This is a paid internship.
