About the role#
First Merchants Corporation offers a 12-week paid summer internship for students interested in financial services. You will gain hands-on experience within our Treasury Management department while working on projects that impact our business. Throughout the summer, you will receive mentorship from experienced professionals and build relationships with leaders across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Learn the roles within the treasury management department, including Treasury Solutions.
- Understand the importance of onboarding new customers, the client experience, and portfolio management.
- Study the sales cycle, relationship banking, and whole-bank selling techniques.
- Gain hands-on sales experience and learn treasury management sales management.
- Participate in networking and development events, including an intern community service project.
- Present your accomplishments and key learnings to senior leadership at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- You are a full-time Bachelor or higher degree-seeking student at an accredited college or university.
- You have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- You demonstrate interest in the financial services industry.
- You possess initiative, enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, a team mentality, and self-motivation.
- You are authorized to work in the United States.
- You are able and willing to travel periodically throughout the First Merchants footprint if required.

- Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 17th - August 6th, 2027).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: 40 hours per week.
