About the role#
The Private Wealth Advisor Intern will work with our team to support daily business operations. You will gain exposure to several areas, including investment management, private banking, client management, retirement plan services, and fiduciary services. This role involves active participation in analytics, projects, and product development.
What you'll do#
- Support the Private Wealth Advisors team with day to day business tasks.
- Learn how a private wealth practice functions and how different business lines collaborate to meet client needs.
- Prepare for, execute, and debrief client presentations.
- Gain experience in investment management and private banking analysis.
- Network with Executive and Senior Leadership during scheduled events.
- Participate in a coordinated community service project.
- Present a summary of your experience at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time Bachelor or higher degree-seeking student at an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Demonstrated interest in the financial services industry.
- Ability and willingness to travel periodically throughout the First Merchants footprint.

- Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 17th through August 6th, 2027).
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Modality: On-site.
- This is a paid internship.
