The Field Engineer Internship is a full-time, on-site opportunity focused on the maintenance and repair of large frame gas and steam turbines. Interns work under the guidance of experienced Field Engineers and Technical Field Advisors to support project execution, resource planning, and technical operations. This role requires a commitment to travel and is open to students who will return to their studies following the work term.
What you'll do#
- Complete web-based training on Turbine and Generator product lines and mandatory environmental, health, and safety protocols.
- Assist Event Managers and Field Engineers with project pre-planning, execution, and post-execution tasks.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, expedite shop repairs, facilitate parts orders for outages, and track customer warranty claims.
- Develop skills in project management, scheduling, resource loading, and cost control.
- Provide remote and on-site support to job sites to expedite resources, parts, and supplier coordination.
- Research and prepare engineering drawing packages and spare parts lists.
- Engage with functional support groups for sourcing and project cost tracking.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university degree program in Engineering or Engineering Technologies, including Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Software, Systems, or Aviation.
- Must be a student returning to in-class studies upon completion of the internship.
- Willingness to travel up to 100%.
- Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments.
