About the role#
The Field Engineer Intern will learn the fundamentals of Turbine and Generator products under the guidance of experienced Field Engineers and Technical Field Advisors. This is a full-time internship that ranges from 3 to 8 months in duration. You will assist Resource and Event Managers on a variety of engineering projects of varying scope and complexity.
What you'll do#
- Complete interactive web-based training on Turbine and Generator product lines and required environmental, health, and safety protocols.
- Learn the fundamentals of project management, including scheduling, resource loading, and cost control.
- Support Field Engineers with onsite project execution and technical applications.
- Assist with project pre-planning, execution, and post-execution tasks such as arranging subcontractors, expediting shop repairs, facilitating parts orders, and tracking customer warranty claims.
- Research and prepare engineering drawing packages and spare parts lists.
- Provide remote and on-site support to job sites to expedite parts and supplier resources.
- Collaborate with project controls advisors to learn cost tracking, receiving, and invoicing practices.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university degree program for Engineering or Engineering Technologies, including majors such as Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Software, Systems, or Aviation.
- Status as a student who will return to in-class studies upon the completion of the work term.
- Willingness to travel up to 100 percent of the time.
- Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments.
