About the role#
As an Asset Management Intern, you will work at the intersection of power trading, customer engagement, commercial strategy, and plant operations. You will gain hands-on experience in commercial asset management while helping optimize the value of our geothermal power assets in the CAISO market. You will own a project scoped with your manager and present your results to company leadership at the end of the 12-week term.
What you'll do#
- Research and recommend strategies for bidding power into the CAISO market.
- Build models that translate operational inputs into production.
- Analyze test data to build dashboards and KPIs that track plant expenses, revenue, and performance.
- Coordinate with external trading partners regarding daily operational parameters and schedules.
- Summarize customer PPA terms and prepare progress reports.
- Support ad hoc projects related to Capacity Market or REC readiness.
What you'll need#
- Current Master's or MBA candidate graduating within the next year.
- Strong financial and data modeling skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort presenting work to stakeholders and leadership.
- Interest in energy finance, power markets, and clean technology.
