About the role#
Fermilab is seeking an Undergraduate Intern to join our team in Lead, South Dakota. This is a full-time, paid position that offers hands-on experience in a national laboratory setting. We are looking for students pursuing degrees in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
What you'll do#
- Assist in research projects focused on particle physics.
- Support scientists with the daily operation of particle accelerators.
- Participate directly in laboratory experiments.
- Gain practical experience working within a premier national laboratory.
What you'll need#
- Familiarity with particle physics concepts and an interest in accelerator research.
- Ability to pass a federal background check and drug screening.
- Compliance with HSPD-12 requirements, including the ability to obtain and maintain a PIV credential.
