About the role#
Fermilab is hiring undergraduate interns for engineering roles based in Lead, South Dakota. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term. You will work on-site to support our research and particle physics experiments.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering projects related to particle physics experiments.
- Assist with the daily operation of particle accelerators.
- Conduct research and technical studies.
- Collaborate with a team of engineers and scientists.
- Participate in safety and compliance activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- A solid understanding of engineering principles.
- Willingness to work in a drug-free environment.
- Ability to pass a federal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential.
