About the role#
The Training Associate Intern supports the Culture Connections Training Center at Family Connections, Inc. This initiative focuses on improving mental health and substance use services in northern New Jersey by training professionals on National CLAS Standards. You will gain hands-on experience in project management, program delivery, and community engagement while supporting the development of effective care practices.
What you'll do#
- Prepare for in-person and virtual training sessions by coordinating with participants and presenters.
- Create training resources, participant guides, and educational materials.
- Provide technical support during sessions.
- Research best practices, policies, and frameworks related to National CLAS Standards.
- Attend planning meetings, take notes, and track follow-up actions.
- Maintain organized training records and assist with administrative tasks.
- Collect and analyze data from program evaluations and participant surveys.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, Education, Human Resources, Communications, Training, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort using virtual meeting platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint.
- Ability to work well with team members and community partners.
- Experience with Canva, Eventbrite, or Microsoft SharePoint is preferred.

- Location: East Orange, New Jersey.
- Work Modality: Hybrid or on-site.
- Term: Rolling (Semester-long, Summer, Fall, or Spring).
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship for students receiving academic credit.
