About the role#
The Transmission System Planning Co-op role provides hands-on experience in electric utility planning and reliability studies. You will work alongside senior engineers to evaluate system performance and contribute to the development of transmission system models. This position is based in Hartford, Connecticut, and runs from January through June 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist in building and maintaining transmission system models used for planning studies.
- Support transmission system impact studies across service territories.
- Help automate study processes using transmission analysis tools.
- Work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams on technical projects.
- Contribute to the development of training materials and presentations.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
- You have a basic understanding of power system concepts.
- You have some exposure to power system analysis tools.
- You possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- You are eager to learn and take initiative in a technical environment.

- Location: Hartford, Connecticut.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January to June).
- Modality: On-site.
- This is a paid, part-time position.
