About the role#
As a Student Optician, you will deliver high-quality customer experiences and support the optical team. You will work under the supervision of a Licensed Optician to ensure every customer receives accurate service and expert guidance. This role is a part-time position based in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
What you'll do#
- Assist customers with frame selections and provide professional recommendations.
- Educate customers on adjustment services and answer questions about products.
- Record precise measurements and perform eyewear adjustments and fittings.
- Operate the point of sale terminal to input prescription and customer data.
- Maintain the appearance of the store and visual displays.
- Support the learning environment by sharing optical knowledge with associates.
- Use tablets and other technology to engage with patients and customers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Opticianry program.
- Previous experience in optical dispensing, customer service, or retail.
- Understanding of optical theory, merchandise, and inventory management systems.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Comfort using technology, including tablets, to assist customers.
- Active study toward the LensCrafters Final Inspector Certification and the Quality, Fitting, and Adjusting Program.
