About the role#
The Student Optician role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in optical dispensing while working toward your certification. You will work under the supervision of a licensed optician to deliver high-quality customer service and support the daily operations of the store.
What you'll do#
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with frame selections and offering product recommendations.
- Educate customers on adjustment services and answer questions regarding eyewear.
- Record accurate measurements and perform eyewear fittings to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Operate the Point of Sale terminal to input customer and prescription information.
- Maintain the appearance of the store and visual displays.
- Demonstrate a proactive, solution-oriented approach to daily tasks and store operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Opticianry program.
- Previous experience in optical dispensing.
- Knowledge of current optical theory and merchandise.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Proficiency in sales and comfort using technology, including tablets, to engage with customers.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

- This position is located in Oshawa, Ontario.
- This is a part-time, on-site role with a rolling term.
