About the role#
As a Respiratory Care Intern at Essentia Health, you will work under the supervision of a Respiratory Care Practitioner to support clinical outcomes. This role focuses on patient care across pediatric and adult populations. You will interact with patients and staff to build positive professional relationships.
What you'll do#
- Perform non-critical care modalities, including hand-held nebulizer treatments and oxygen therapy setup.
- Assist with arterial punctures.
- Clean and stock equipment and supplies as directed by staff.
- Maintain a high level of customer service with patients and coworkers.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 2 semesters in a JRCRTE-approved respiratory care program.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, or the ability to obtain it within one month of your start date.
- Strong customer service skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Duluth, Minnesota.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday rotation.
- Shift: Day, evening, and night rotation.
- Status: Paid internship.
