About the role#
The Midstream Pipeline Engineer Intern role provides hands-on experience in pipeline operations, engineering, and construction. You will work within the Pipeline group to support active projects related to the design, maintenance, and construction of natural gas pipeline systems. This 12-week summer program allows you to work with engineers, project managers, and field staff to understand how pipeline infrastructure is developed and maintained.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering and project management teams with daily technical and administrative tasks.
- Support field data collection, document pipeline assets, review drawings, and track construction progress.
- Participate in field visits, pipeline inspections, and integrity assessments.
- Organize and maintain project records, including as-built drawings and inspection reports.
- Attend team meetings and shadow personnel to learn about the full pipeline lifecycle.
- Research and prepare technical presentations for pipeline optimization and integrity initiatives.
- Learn and apply safety protocols, regulatory standards, and environmental procedures.
- Collaborate with teams across construction, land, permitting, compliance, and operations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
- Interest in midstream pipeline systems, energy infrastructure, or field operations.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in office and field settings.
- A valid driver license and willingness to travel locally to project sites.
- Experience with AutoCAD, GIS, or pipeline data tools is a plus, as is a basic understanding of engineering design or construction processes.

- This is a full-time, paid summer internship for 2027.
- The role is based in the Pittsburgh and Canonsburg, Pennsylvania area.
- This position is on-site and requires local travel to project sites.
