About the role#
The Midstream Facilities Engineer Intern position is a 12-week summer program. You will gain hands-on experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of natural gas infrastructure. This role involves working within the Facilities group on projects like compression, dehydration, measurement, and regulation. You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and operations staff to support project execution and facility development.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering and project management teams with daily technical and administrative tasks.
- Support design reviews, equipment evaluations, and construction tracking.
- Participate in field visits, facility walkdowns, and commissioning activities.
- Maintain engineering drawings, as-built records, and project files.
- Conduct research, data analysis, and engineering calculations to support facility design and reliability.
- Shadow team members to learn the project lifecycle from conceptual design through operation.
- Apply safety protocols, engineering standards, and environmental procedures.
- Coordinate with departments including construction, land, permitting, and supply chain.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Interest in midstream facilities, natural gas infrastructure, or field operations.
- Basic understanding of engineering design, process systems, or mechanical equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings, both in the office and the field.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally to project sites.
- Experience with AutoCAD, process simulation, or other CAD/design software is a plus.
