About the role#
The Geology Intern joins our team for a 12-week summer program. You will work alongside geoscientists to evaluate subsurface data and contribute to active projects. This role provides exposure to development planning, drilling operations, and reservoir characterization. You will take ownership of a technical project and present your findings to the Geology Team and other stakeholders.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with geologists and technical staff to develop geologic interpretations.
- Assist with operations geology, including well planning and post-well evaluations.
- Analyze well logs and drilling data to identify geologic trends.
- Create stratigraphic correlations, maps, and cross sections.
- Support reservoir characterization studies and investigate stratigraphic relationships between the Marcellus and Geneseo.
- Organize and quality-control geologic datasets.
- Participate in technical discussions with geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and drilling teams.
- Explore additional areas such as exploration, CCUS, or geophysics.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Geology, Geoscience, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.5.
- Coursework in stratigraphy, sedimentology, structural geology, petroleum geology, or petrophysics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to organize information and communicate technical observations.
- Experience with GIS, mapping, data analytics, or visualization software is a plus.
- Interest in applied geology and the energy industry.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
