About the role#
Emerson is seeking a Graduate Software Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. Based in our Round Rock, Texas office, this full-time role focuses on developing automation software to streamline manufacturing processes. You will work within a cross-functional team, exploring software technology in process industries and executing projects related to AI, Machine Learning, or control systems.
What you'll do#
- Research and apply product development using agile methodologies.
- Build software using C#, Go, and Python.
- Design and implement APIs.
- Become familiar with frontend reactive frameworks.
- Apply AI technologies to support frontend functions.
- Learn about and compare AI and Machine Learning algorithms.
- Utilize agentic frameworks, MCP, and Ollama LLMs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
- Proficiency in algorithms, networking, and language development including C/C++, C#, and Go.
- Engineering background including computational analysis, numerical methods, control systems, and process technologies.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Preferred: Completed coursework in computer architecture, linear algebra, or software algorithms.
- Preferred: Exposure to frontend frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular.
- Preferred: Familiarity with AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Reinforcement Learning, LLMs, or Deep Neural Networks.
- Previous professional internship experience.
- Strong communication skills and an innovative approach to problem-solving.
