About the role#
Tucker Mechanical is seeking a Project Assistant Intern to provide documentation and administrative support. You will learn the fundamentals of mechanical contracting project administration while assisting our teams with day-to-day operations.
What you'll do#
- Review project specifications and owner schedules.
- Manage job files, including drawing logs, submittal logs, RFI records, meeting minutes, and daily reports.
- Conduct inventory and inspection of materials and equipment.
- Prepare T&M billings and PCO proposals while reconciling internal cost records.
- Learn to use project management software like Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, and COINs.
- Gain familiarity with field productivity, prefabrication, and installation systems.
- Compile summary reports for management and assist in researching contract design change requests.
- Complete training for the company safety program and policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program for Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical construction materials, equipment, and drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral.
- Ability to organize work and manage time effectively.
- A self-motivated approach and the ability to build positive relationships with employees, suppliers, and customers.

Location & details#
- This position is based in Rocky Hill, Connecticut.
- The role is on-site and requires travel to various construction field sites.
- This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
