About the role#
This is a 12-week paid internship program for Summer 2027. You will work with the branch and corporate claims departments at EMC Insurance Companies. The program focuses on building professional skills through active networking, relationship-building, and exposure to various business units. You will gain a clear understanding of the insurance industry and the claims process while learning about our culture and business operations.
What you'll do#
- Partner with key business stakeholders in the Claims department on various projects.
- Learn about EMC business processes, products, and organizational culture.
- Gain hands-on experience with the insurance claims process.
- Develop professional skills that are transferable to any business setting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college freshman or above.
- A major in Business Administration, Marketing, or Finance. Preference is given to those with a focus on insurance.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience through school, community organizations, or previous work.
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in property and casualty insurance.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- High attention to detail and sound decision-making capabilities.

- This is a full-time, remote position based in Iowa.
