About the role#
Elsevier is seeking Evaluator Subject Matter Experts to support an AI-powered learning platform for medical students. This role focuses on enhancing content used for pre-clinical studies and USMLE Step 1 and COMLEX preparation. The position is a remote contract role with a commitment of 5 to 15 hours per week during active evaluation periods.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate and assess AI-generated content covering basic science and medical curricula.
- Rate content based on accuracy, completeness, relevance, and educational utility using established metrics.
- Provide expert feedback to ensure materials meet the needs of first and second-year medical students.
- Complete asynchronous evaluations within deadlines ranging from 5 days to 2 weeks.
- Participate in at least 4 evaluation cycles per year, with potential for ad-hoc assessments.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a PGY-1 resident in a US medical residency program (MD or DO) OR a fourth-year medical student at an ACGME-accredited school who has passed USMLE Steps 1 and 2.
- Strong understanding of medical education pedagogy and learning outcomes.
- Prior experience in medical education content review is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Remote (US time zones).
- Duration: November 2025 through December 2026, with the possibility of extension.
- Compensation: $60 USD per hour.
- Employment structure: Contracted through a third-party agency.
