About the role#
The Internal Audit Intern role provides support across various audit projects, including planning, field work, and department administration. You will perform financial and operational audits to ensure activities align with management instructions, policies, and internal control principles. This 12-week, full-time program runs from May 17, 2027, to August 6, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist with industry research and audit planning.
- Complete tasks across all phases of the internal audit process.
- Document business operations using Microsoft Visio flowcharts or Word narratives.
- Develop, monitor, and track material request lists.
- Document planning and walkthrough meeting minutes, including summaries of attendees, discussions, and next actions.
- Assist with substantive testing of management controls.
- Build professional relationships and network within the Internal Audit profession.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BA/BS degree program in accounting, finance, business administration, healthcare management, or a related field.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- An interest in the healthcare industry.
- Preference is given to candidates graduating in December 2027 or May 2028 with a 3.2 GPA or higher, though all graduation dates are considered.

- This position is based in Tampa, Florida.
- The role follows a hybrid work modality, requiring associates to be in the office 3 days per week.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
