About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience supporting industrial engineering and continuous improvement initiatives within our manufacturing environment. You will work alongside engineers and cross-functional teams to solve problems, investigate root causes, and research solutions. This role is based at our headquarters and requires working directly on the factory shop floor.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate and improve manufacturing and business processes using time studies and process flow analysis.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data to identify trends and root causes.
- Develop and document Standard Work Instructions for production employees.
- Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards in equipment, processes, and workspaces.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement Lean methodologies and continuous improvement projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Technology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions.
- High mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform moderate-level mathematical calculations.

- Location: Des Moines, IA (100% on-site).
- Term: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Status: Full-time, paid position.
