About the role#
This internship supports manufacturing continuous improvement efforts at EFCO. You will work directly with production and support teams to observe processes, analyze data, and implement improvements using Lean methods. This role focuses on enhancing safety, quality, delivery, and cost across our manufacturing operations.
What you'll do#
- Observe shop floor work to identify potential hazards and process risks.
- Support kaizen events and improvement projects from observation through implementation.
- Collect and analyze manufacturing data related to labor, downtime, quality, and capacity.
- Conduct time studies and process observations to identify bottlenecks.
- Develop and update standard work instructions and process documentation.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a four-year degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related manufacturing field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions.
- High mechanical aptitude with the ability to complete moderate-level mathematical calculations.
- Comfort working in a factory shop floor environment.
