About the role#
Ingredion is seeking a Logistics Planner Intern to support our North American logistics strategy. You will work alongside senior management to support operations across various modes, including bulk, dry van truck, inter-modal, and rail. This role focuses on using continuous improvement methodologies to control costs and improve service levels. You will collaborate with manufacturing plants, distribution centers, sales, and customer service teams to gain hands-on experience in a corporate supply chain setting.
What you'll do#
- Perform ad-hoc operational analysis, including pricing requests, dedicated fleet analysis, and network studies.
- Plan and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work with the management team to codify and institutionalize standard methodologies within the logistics group.
- Offer data-supported solutions to daily logistics challenges.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to improve the logistics delivery experience for internal and external customers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 is preferred.
- Interest in building queries and managing data using Access, Excel, and PowerBI.
- Familiarity with Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma) concepts.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer term.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
