About the role#
The Office of General Counsel at Earthjustice is hiring one part-time legal intern for the spring 2027 term. You will work under the supervision of a licensed attorney to support the organization across various legal functions. This is a paid position.
What you'll do#
- Assist with risk mitigation, management, and compliance advice for leadership and program teams.
- Participate in legal research and documentation.
- Work with internal clients to help them achieve goals while minimizing organizational risks.
- Collaborate with partners and other nonprofit organizations on sector-wide issues.
- Gain exposure to non-profit legal work including contract review, compliance, and litigation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a 2L or 3L law student during the spring 2027 semester.
- Strong writing, research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw.
- An interest in public interest law and social justice.
- Ability to work both independently and collegially with others.
- Knowledge of environmental and administrative law is a plus.
- Commitment to at least 15 hours per week for 12 weeks.
Location & details#
This role is available as a remote position within the United States. You may also choose a hybrid schedule working from the San Francisco, California or Washington, DC offices.
