About the role#
E2 Consulting Engineers is hiring a Substation Design Engineer Intern to support electric utility projects in our Pasadena office. You will work under the direction of a senior engineer or project manager to help develop physical or protection and control substation design drawings and engineering calculations.
What you'll do#
- Create and update substation design drawings and engineering calculations.
- Perform self-checks on your work to ensure quality.
- Coordinate project tasks with senior engineers and managers.
- Track design activities using company and client information systems.
- Support senior engineers at job site meetings to gather project scope.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-approved bachelor’s degree program for Electrical Engineering.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant academic or project experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- EIT certification and knowledge of substation design standards are preferred but not required.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship located in Pasadena, California.
- The hourly pay range is $22.00 to $32.00, based on skills and experience.
- This role requires local candidates only and does not offer visa sponsorship.
