About the role#
The Controller's Office at Duquesne University is looking for a Student Accounting Analyst. This is a part-time, on-site position based in Pittsburgh. Students can work up to 15 hours per week. This role is open on a rolling basis, and College Work-Study award recipients are preferred.
What you'll do#
- Review journal entries and perform monthly account reconciliations.
- Check weekly grant transactions to ensure compliance with grant regulations.
- Create journal entries for the fringe chargeback clearing account.
- Reconcile University bank accounts and track daily bank deposits.
- Help the Post-Award Services department with tasks like subcontract invoicing and overhead reconciliations.
- Participate in physical inventory counts, including locating, tagging, and photographing new assets.
- Identify incorrectly keyed organizations and programs twice per month.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time graduate or undergraduate student.
- Sophomore or upperclassman standing in Accounting, Finance, or a related Business Administration field.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- A commitment to professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
