About the role#
The Thrive Internship is a 10-week summer program where you join a small group to complete a real-world software engineering project. You will receive direct coaching and mentorship from a Duolingo software engineer while building relationships with peers who share an interest in accessible education.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with a small team on a technical project.
- Attend engineering talks, training sessions, and guest speaker events.
- Participate in career-building skill workshops.
- Engage with the team to contribute to our mission of making education available to everyone.
What you'll need#
- You are a second-year undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- You have an expected graduation date between December 2028 and August 2029.
- You have completed at least two college-level computer science courses.
- You have programming experience in Java, Python, Kotlin, or Swift.
- You can commit to 10 consecutive weeks from June 14, 2027, to August 20, 2027.
- You have a 3.5+ GPA and a Duolingo streak (preferred).
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- You must have the ability to relocate to Pittsburgh for the duration of the program.
- We do not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
