About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity for students to engage in laboratory research under the mentorship of Duke University faculty and their lab teams. Participants will gain experience in research methodology, clinical activities, and professional development while collaborating with faculty, staff, and medical students. The program concludes with a presentation regarding the research experience.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a laboratory research project under the mentorship of Duke faculty and lab team members.
- Attend structured professional development and networking sessions focused on research methodology and career development.
- Engage in clinical activities related to the faculty mentor's specific area of research.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and medical students.
- Deliver a presentation summarizing the research experience.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program related to Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, Biology, Psychology, or Chemistry.
- Ability to commit to full-time (40 hours per week) research for the eight-week duration of the program.
- Availability to start on campus on June 1st, 2026.
- Submission of a Curriculum Vitae and an undergraduate transcript.
- Provision of names and contact information for two references.
- Fulfillment of clinical shadowing vaccine requirements, including TB, MMR, Tdap, Varicella, and Flu.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
