About the role#
This internship provides recent college graduates with exposure to the full lifecycle of clinical research projects within the Dr. Anthony Catanzano Jr. Lab. The role is designed to offer a mix of learning opportunities and research support under the mentorship of the research team. Interns receive regular feedback and may be expected to produce a publication based on their experience. This position is limited to a one-year term.
What you'll do#
- Manage retrospective databases for scoliosis and neuromuscular patients.
- Conduct gait analysis studies for neuromuscular patients in collaboration with physical therapy staff.
- Enroll patients for prospective research studies.
- Assist the lead clinical research coordinator with project-related tasks.
- Analyze data with oversight from the principal investigator and study statisticians.
- Design and program research experiments.
- Attend department-wide research meetings and training sessions.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree.
- A strong motivation for a career in clinical medicine.
- Previous biomedical or clinical research experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel is preferred.
- Academic background in Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Public Health, Health Administration, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.

- Location: Durham, North Carolina.

- Schedule: Part-time, not to exceed 10 hours per week.
- Compensation: Paid position with an anticipated pay range of $20.00 to $27.02 per hour.
