About the role#
This role is for a student worker in food service or catering at Slippery Rock University. You will work on campus to help prepare food and manage service areas. This is a paid, on-site position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items using standardized recipes.
- Store food properly according to safety standards.
- Set up workstations, including prep tables and service counters.
- Clean and sanitize workstations after use.
- Serve customers and anticipate their needs.
- Keep food items stocked and replenished.
- Maintain a positive attitude toward guests and coworkers.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Ability to demonstrate guest service skills.
- Must have or be willing to acquire a food safety certification.
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or use Personal Protective Equipment as required.
