About the role#
The Housekeeping Intern supports the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing daily operations to ensure hotel quality standards are met. This role involves a mix of administrative support, staff training, and hands-on cleaning duties to maintain guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Inspect assigned suites and public areas to ensure all furnishings, equipment, and linens are clean and in good repair.
- Assist with training employees on their job duties and provide corrective instruction when deficiencies are identified.
- Partner with the Housekeeping Manager to inventory and maintain appropriate par levels for linens and room supplies.
- Monitor commercial laundry equipment and supplies to ensure they remain in working order.
- Perform housekeeping tasks, including cleaning guest suites and public spaces, to meet occupancy standards.
- Ensure all operations comply with federal, state, and local health and safety regulations.
- Manage lost and found procedures and coordinate with other departments to ensure consistent service.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of housekeeping experience.
- Fluent English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to work with percentages and variances.
- Experience with Microsoft Office is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, climbing, and kneeling for extended periods.
- Capacity to lift, carry, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Pursuing or holding a degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or Operations Management is preferred.
