About the role#
This internship provides supervised, on-the-job training at the Sonesta Resort in Hilton Head Island. You will rotate through various front office departments to learn the operations and management of a hospitality business. You may gain experience in front desk operations, concierge services, bell services, reservations, and PBX through cross-training.
What you'll do#
- Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Register guests and issue room keys.
- Answer phones promptly and courteously.
- Process cash and credit card transactions, including posting charges and preparing deposits.
- Communicate guest requests or complaints to management for follow-up.
- Assist with guest reservations, cancellations, and revisions.
- Support other departments to maintain service quality.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college degree program.
- Preferred majors include Hospitality, Business, Administration, Communications, Human Resources, or Recreation.
- Prior experience in hospitality or resort operations is preferred.
- Fluency in English.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency with basic math and computer systems.

- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time. You may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
