About the role#
Dominion Energy is seeking an intern for the Tax department for the Summer 2027 term. This role offers the chance to apply academic knowledge to practical work alongside tax professionals. Interns will work 40 hours per week in a hybrid environment, with at least 50% of work performed on-site at the Richmond, Virginia office. This is a paid position.
What you'll do#
- Assist tax department team members with month-end close activities and account reconciliations.
- Support tax activities, including income tax provisions and income tax reporting.
- Prepare tax returns for commercial activities.
- Assist in the preparation of corporate tax returns and other filings.
- Observe and engage with other finance departments, including accounting, reporting, credit, payables, and treasury.
- Perform routine work assignments and additional duties within various Tax functional groups.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment at a 4-year university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or a tax-related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- An expected graduation date between Fall 2027 and Fall 2029.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and ability to interpret financial data.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Solid working knowledge of MS Office applications.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Completion of accounting coursework up to and including Intermediate Accounting II is preferred.
