About the role#
As a Structural Engineering Intern, you will join our integrated design team to help create structural systems for new construction and renovation projects. You will work alongside licensed engineers and professionals across architecture and other disciplines to gain hands-on experience through the full project lifecycle, from early concepts to construction administration. This is a full-time, paid internship running from May 18 through August 6, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Design structural systems for new construction and building renovations with a licensed engineer.
- Attend design team meetings to observe how a multi-disciplinary team coordinates project requirements.
- Assist with the development of construction documents, primarily using Revit.
- Coordinate structural design requirements with architecture and other project disciplines.
- Visit an active construction site to see the design in practice.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year at an ABET-accredited Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering program.
- Experience or interest in BIM workflows, such as Autodesk Revit.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. We do not provide visa sponsorship.
- Preference is given to third-year students and those who have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- A strong interest in architectural building design.
Location & details#
- This position is based in either Portland, Oregon, or Seattle, Washington.
- The role is on-site and hybrid, following a four-day in-office model with flexibility on Fridays.
