About the role#
As a Structural Engineering Intern in our Los Angeles studio, you will join our integrated design team for the summer of 2027. You will contribute to the design of structural systems for a variety of building projects. This role involves working alongside licensed engineers and collaborating with professionals across architecture, interiors, and other disciplines. You will gain hands-on experience throughout the design process, from early concepts to construction administration.
What you'll do#
- Design structural systems for new construction and building renovation projects.
- Attend design team meetings and observe coordination among multi-disciplinary teams.
- Assist structural engineers with the development of construction documents using Revit.
- Coordinate structural design requirements with architecture and other project disciplines.
- Visit active construction sites to observe project progress.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year at an ABET-accredited program in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering.
- Experience or interest in BIM workflows, specifically Autodesk Revit.
- Interest in architectural building design.
- Preference for candidates who are third-year students.
- Preference for candidates who have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Los Angeles, California.
- Term: Full-time, Summer 2027 (May 18 through August 6).
- Modality: On-site and hybrid. We follow a four-day in-office model with flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.
- Compensation: This is a paid position with an hourly rate between $20 and $26.
