About the role#
The Structural Engineering Summer Internship at SOM offers students the chance to learn from experts across various design disciplines. You will take part in a wide range of learning opportunities and events while contributing to design projects. This is a full-time, paid position based in our Los Angeles studio.
What you'll do#
- Participate in both in-person and virtual learning events.
- Build your design and visualization skills.
- Contribute to ongoing design projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited bachelor or master degree program in structural engineering or a related field.
- You must be returning to school in the Fall of 2027.
- Initiative, problem-solving skills, and high attention to precision and accuracy.
- Ability to follow instructions on deliverable timelines and seek guidance or escalate tasks when necessary.
- Effective communication skills using written, oral, and visual methods.
- Limited experience in structural analysis, drafting, and design development.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, specifically Sheets.
- Basic knowledge of ETABS, Revit, and Rhino/Grasshopper.
