About the role#
As a Structural Engineering Intern, you will join our integrated design team in Overland Park. You will contribute to the design of structural systems for new construction and building renovation projects. This is a paid, full-time position that runs from May 18 through August 6, 2027. You will be part of our Emerging Professional Experience program, which includes mentorship, project work, and weekly learning sessions.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside a licensed engineer to design structural systems.
- Attend design team meetings and observe coordination across different disciplines.
- Assist with the design and development of construction documents using Revit.
- Coordinate structural design requirements with architecture and other teams.
- Visit an active construction site.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least one year in an ABET-accredited Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering program.
- Experience or interest in BIM workflows, such as Autodesk Revit.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Preference is given to third-year students.
- Preference is given to those who have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
- Interest in architectural building design is a plus.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Overland Park, Kansas.
- The position is on-site with a hybrid schedule, following a four-day in-office model with flexibility on Fridays.
